The Man in my Life

Well you know sometimes things have to be about someone else and this week it is all about my wonderful husband.  If you don't know anything about him he is a Golf Professional and very tall and handsome I must add...  :)

His longest drive so far is 417 yards.... he can smack the shit outta a golf ball, it is so amazing to watch. He has been competing in The World's Long Drive Competitions for a few years now and last year he made it to the finals which is held in Mesquite, Nevada...

People from all over the world end up there competing....As in a typical competition you have stages you have to get threw before you end up at the big one.  And they then weed you out and get down to the number one hitter that year...
They play it on television around Christmas time every year.  We always sit at my grandma's house eating and watching it.  Last year we sat and was hoping you could see us in the stands
sitting and cheering...

My husband has made it this year again threw stage 1 and we leave this Friday for St. Louis to hopefully make it threw stage 2...

If he makes it we will be going on a journey again to Nevada in October...
This was last years sign...The dates are different this year..
The difference in this year compared to last year....He has been working out and eating right.  I am very proud of what he is doing and I know besides the benefits for a healthy body he is getting......it is also gonna make that swing of his even stronger than ever...
I hope everyone keeps there fingers crossed for my husband and we also take all the prayers we can get as well...

Untill my next post....Have a great week...

And I will keep my hubbs in practice mode....

From Trash to Treasure

Find the beauty in garbage...

I came across this bench must I say on the side of the road on garbage night...yes I am one of those who will stop my truck and run over and pick something up that others throw away.
My son and husband laugh at me but when it is a beautiful night out who drives me around while I sit in the back of my truck ready to jump over the side and grab my treasure....:)
I have been tired of items from my own home and sit them out on the curb for others to take and make there treasure so it is only fair that I restock when I purge to....(big smile)

This is my bench before...
it just needs some love...
I took the screws out of the bottom and the seat off and hmmm....nasty spider web....yuk....
Time to sand it down and clean it up before I paint....
2 coats of fresh white paint makes this little garbage treasure a keeper... :)
My new employees Hattie and Capper are watching me work in the background.
They love the fresh coat of paint..
Now to decide what kind of fabric I want on the seat....
So many options but I think I have the perfect one in mind...
Ahhhh,,,,YES, do you feel it???
This is just what I am looking for....I grab my staple gun and prepare  the cushion...

Now that the seat is ready and the white paint has dried it is time to scuff it up...
I am not a fan of perfect....Let's give this bench some tough love...I grab my sandpaper once again
and we scuff up the paint...
And now I screw the seat back on and she is DONE....

AFTER....Isint she a beauty??  Nice and bright.
And she has a perfect place in my living room right now....
I hope if you see a dirty old treasure out on the street you stop and think about what you can turn it into.
I have an old piano bench I purchased at an estate sale a couple years ago for $1.00  yes just one dollar.
It has been sitting in my basement and I think it is about time to do something with it.

I will show you what I decide to do with the old piano bench on a later post....
I have ideas flowing...

Have a great week everyone

Let's be Kind Etsy Finds

Find this wonderful sign at Please Be Still on Etsy

So my son and I were watching this Hallmark movie called
The Colt.
It was during war time back in the days and death was all around these men fighting. So happens a young man's horse has a colt and he is supposed to shoot it..but cannot find it in him to do so.  And all the other men cannot do it either.
So they keep this colt.
you can find this at Tilesmile on etsy

The young man gets lost along the way and finds a small house with a wonderful family that help him out for the night.

They feed and water the horses and the wife makes a wonderful dinner and they sit at the table eating and the words and the way they spoke were like foreign language to me.
Faith +Love+Design has this in there etsy shop

They said please and thank you.  They said yes sir, and yes mam. The children had respect not only for the adults but for each other as well.
Everyone sat and listened never interrupting people when they were talking.
Find this at I wish I had a penguin friend on etsy

They asked and didn't have to be told over and over.
I actually felt and had feelings watching this movie and my son made a comment and said wow, momma you don't hear people talk like that anymore they sound weird.  I then said yes you are right people anymore just say go get this and hey asshole...
Life through the lens on etsy has this amazing 8 x 10

But even a 10 year old realized what people today act like.  I know we will never go back to them times.  But what an eye opener and realizing that back then they worked extra hard for everything they had and with plenty of respect and manners and even sharing.  And today we are rude and spoiled and there is so much greed and hatred and want.
Manners got pushed away and forgotten.

What goes around on etsy has this great shirt

A family loves and helps one another out and now they hate one another because one might have more than the other or one gets this and the other don't.

Find this at Jaime Beattie on etsy

I don't understand what the world is coming to and all the hate
people have in them.  It is very sad.
I just hope at least some of us mind our manners and teach it to our children.  Let's not let manners slip away.

Just do it

I leave tomorrow night to go on a  journey to get certified to teach Spinning classes.
I will then be able to teach anywhere they want to hire me.  I get to help people lose weight become healthy and make themselfs stronger.  What a fantastic job.   Besides the perk to workout myself and get paid to stay in shape... I am so excited.  (alittle scared)

My husband  and son are my biggest fans and supporters when I go on these journeys of mine.  They are totally into me acheving my goals.  And alway give me positive words and encouragement.    And they both always say go kick there butts....They just never know what I am going to get into next...I am all over the place...

Guess I will test these waters and see what happens next.  I want to further my education in fitness..Maybe a nutristionist or a personal trainer...hmmm, I don't know yet...I guess one step at a time and see where life leads me...

The next best thing is I still have plenty of extra time to do my crafts and work on pushing my business out there more.

It is that time of year for craft shows to start poping up everywhere...That is when you can make alot of money ( I think anyways)...But it is alot of work.   I been on a mission all year and have piles of items made up to sit out in my booth...
I ordered 3 manniquin heads and a body for displays...I think that will help alot.  (I hope anyways)

Ok so I guess enough jibber jabber....

I hope everyone has a super weekend...I will be spinning my butt off Saturday all day...but will have my hard earned certificate...Cannot wait to tell you about the class and adventure I am about to take this weekend.....

Untill then

Happy Sales and Happy Health....
